Commentary
I remember times when at family gatherings Ron would call me off to the side away from everyone else to ask me something in private. We would talk about things for a few minutes and he would reach out to shake my hand and say 'Thanks Uncle Ray'. It made me feel good that I could say something that would help relieve some tiny bit of axiety over what would be small to me but big to a young man. Over the years I enjoyed listening to stories that Ron would tell about hunting or fishing. He really loved the out doors, one could tell by the enthusiasm that he put into his tale. The art that appears here says in pictures what was always on his mind. Ron had the ability to draw on paper a mental picture of a memory from a personal visit with mother nature. A grandson, A Son, A brother, A husband, A father, An uncle, A nephew, A cousin, A game hunter, A fisherman, An artist, A defender of the country that he loved, this and more is what Ron Garner was in his short lifetime, and I will miss him.
